Rick's excellent Large Hadron Collider/European adventure

In Geneva, great hotel in the "Pioneer Square" part of town ... lots of restaurants, sex shops, and drinking opportunities. Got in around 11 AM or so yesterday. Decided to check a bag with some clothes in it, and another I borrowed from Gay that I put a book in, but more-or-less left empty in case I bought some cool German fashion statements. And, of course, both bags were lost. So, a bit of an annoyance filling out forms, etc. Hope maybe they'll arrive today.

Off to the LHC today ... take the 16 tram to Avenchet, then the 56 to CERN. The hotel gave me a bus pass. That's not gonna keep me from getting lost. At least the weather is nice ... well above freezing with a lite dusting of snow.

Everybody speaks French, gas is 1.39/liter (...Swiss Franks...). And, believe it or not, I still have not had any beer. And this keyboard, made by Dell, has the y and z keys switched ... somekind of French-Swiss thing. Go figure.
